The role of the Assistant Manager is to oversee the daily operations of the retail location and online sales. The Assistant Manager supports the owners and performs all required management duties. As Assistant Manager, you will strive to achieve store success by leading a dynamic and passionate team to achieve all store objectives. The Assistant Manager will report directly to the owners.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Salesfloor

  • Provides exceptional customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling any customer concerns in both English and French, in store and online
  • Manages the team to ensure every customer is greeted in a timely fashion and provides a superior experience for our customers that exceeds their expectations
  • Utilizes and trains the team on the company’s POS and online system to complete sales, returns, exchanges and online orders
  • Assists and ensures that all online orders are completed correctly in a quick & efficient manner
  • Oversees the organization of the stockroom and setting up merchandise on the salesfloor
  • Collaborate with team members to keep the salesfloor exceptionally clean and always organized
  • Provides ongoing feedback for optimizing store operations and customer experienc
  • Actively participates in managing inventories and stock, including keeping detailed records of inventory use and sales, and advising owners on ordering where necessary
  • Creates business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, and enhance profitability

Team Building

  • Answers team member questions, helps with any issues or problems, and ensures that quality assurance and compliance guidelines are met
  • Inspire and encourage employees to ensure a high level of morale
  • Leads and participates in daily team meetings to update team members on tasks, priorities, goals, new products, as well as best practices and continuing expectations
  • Assists in the store hiring processes and new team member training
  • Develops strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals
  • Generates and shares comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance to the owners
  • Ensures company brand materials and physical working spaces meet and exceed company presentation standards while identifying new process improvement opportunities

Service Department

  • Work in close conjunction with the service team members to ensure that all bicycle assembly, quality control checks, tune-ups and service work are completed in an organized and timely fashion
  • Work with customers to understand their concerns and accurately and efficiently diagnose issues
  • Ensure that customers are provided with a clear overview of what service work is required to ensure that their bicycles are properly maintained which meet or exceed manufacturer’s specifications
  • Ensure that the store meets and exceeds compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Assists with offsite logistics & inventory transfers

Marketing

  • Schedule and organize the creation of social media content
  • Assist with the video production to engage customers and deliver relevant content
  • Suggests and assists with adding and editing content on the Scooteretti website
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers to bring in effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows
  • Seeks and co-ordinates special events such as bicycle trade shows, bike days, etc
  • Your ability to adapt to various situations, environment, challenges, job duties and work schedules will be crucial to your success

About You

  • 3 Year minimum Retail and or Management Experience
  • 1 Year Industry Experience (preferred)
  • Outstanding Customer Service and Strong Sales Skillset
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills in English and French (Bilingualism is a must)
  • Strong Leadership and Motivational Skills
  • Employee Training Experience
  • Available to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings
  • Must have a passion and basic understanding of bicycles

About the Job

  • Salary $40,000 - $50,000 / 40-44 hour workweek 5 days a week
  • Mostly Days 9 am-5 pm / Mon-Sat (currently closed Sundays)
  • Uniform (Top) provided
